Parent Involvement
School Board
The Newton Moore Senior High School Board comprises staff, parents and members of the community. The role of the School Board is to provide strategic guidance for the school and to effectively oversee and review the schools’ management and performance.
When making decisions about school programs, the school board incorporates the communities’ views on what students should know. The school board provides an opportunity for parents, carers and staff to participate in school decision making.
The Newton Moore Senior High School Board is a highly effective governance group. We have a strong mix of community and industry representatives.
Our School Board takes an active role in determining long term goals, strategic planning and evaluation of data and providing a range of other supports. The Board has been involved in advocating on behalf of the school to a range of stakeholders and is actively engaged in promoting the profile of the school within the community. The Board takes seriously its responsibility to provide input into School Policy but understands the line between the engagement in strategic and operational management issues.
Parents and Citizens
Our Parents & Citizens (P & C) committee is a very small group of dedicated parents. The P & C raises money through the operation of the school canteen, where they employ a canteen manager and a part-time assistant manager. There is a small group of dedicated volunteers who give up many hours supporting our school canteen manager.
The funds raised at the canteen have been used to support and resource small projects across the school.
If you would like to volunteer at the school canteen please contact the Canteen Manager via email nmshs-canteen@bigpond.com or during school hours on 9795 8620.
